What is Futures Trading?
Futures trading lets traders participate in market movements and potentially profit by going long or short on a futures contract.
What are long and short in futures trading?
In spot trading, traders can only profit when the value of an asset increases. Futures trading, however, allows traders to potentially profit in both directions–whether the value of an asset rises or falls–by taking long or short positions on a futures contract.
How to trade on BitKan Futures?
1. Fund Transfer
Open the app, tap [Assets] — [Transfer], select the currency (e.g., USDT) — from [Spot Account] to [Binance Futures Account] — enter the transfer [Amount] — tap [Confirm Transfer].
2. Account Settings
Tap the More icon in the top right corner of the trading page — [Contract Settings]. In [Position Mode], choose between One-Way Position or Two-Way Position. For [Trading Unit], select Coin or Contracts.
3. Opening a Position
If you anticipate the price will rise, you can choose to open a long position. Here’s how to open a long position using the BTCUSDT perpetual contract as an example.
- Enter [Trade] → [Futures] page.
- Tap the coin pair box in the top left corner (e.g., BTC/USDT).
- Choose [Cross Margin/Isolated Margin], set [Leverage], and click [Open Position].
- Set [Limit Order] — enter [Price] and [Amount].
- Tap [Buy Long] — tap [Confirm].
Note:
- Cross Margin vs. Isolated Margin: In Cross Margin mode, all available balance in your account will be used as collateral for the position. In Isolated Margin mode, the margin locked when you place the order will be the maximum loss for that position.
- Leverage: The BTCUSDT perpetual contract supports up to 125x leverage. The higher the leverage, the higher the potential profit, but the greater the risk.
- If your USDT balance is too low, you may not be able to place an order. You can adjust the leverage or increase your available USDT balance to complete the order.
- Since futures trading involves leverage, which amplifies both profits and risks, if the BTC price fluctuates significantly, your position may be liquidated. Therefore, it’s important to monitor market movements and set stop-loss and take-profit levels.
4. Closing a Position
In the trading interface, tap [Open Positions] at the bottom — tap [Close Position]. If you wish to quickly close the entire position, choose the specific position and tap [Market Close All].
